Leading up to this year's pantomime, the Thurso Players Juniors had a sell-out show at the Mill Theatre on October 28.

The production was called Mr Artigiano's Puppet Show and was "very well-received", according to a spokesperson for the Players. Written and directed by Faye Sutherland, the story told the tale of Mr Artigiano and his puppets, who held a terrifying secret.

The spokesperson added: "The cast of 17 juniors worked hard over the course of September and October on the special Halloween show and its spectacular dance finale. Tickets sold out in record time, and a great night was had by everyone involved, as well as those who came to watch and support the Junior Players."

With that performance done and dusted the Thurso Players can concentrate on the panto production called Dick Wickington.

The Mill Theatre will host six performances over the evenings of December 7–9 and with Saturday matinees on December 10 and 17 and with a final evening performance on Saturday the 17th. Written and directed by John Glen, Dick Wickington is a tale of a boy, his cat and a trip to far Cathay to help save Caithness from Queen Rat and her ratlings.

The Players spokesperson said: "The cast and crew have been busy rehearsing to, once again, bring Christmas magic to the Mill in what promises to be a fun night for all the family. Tickets will go on sale late November, so keep an eye out on the Thurso Players Facebook page for more details.
