Wick Sheriff Court heard about two neighbours at odds with each other and how it landed one of them in court.

Blake Fox punched Paul Kennedy after shouting and swearing at him.

Fox (23) admitted the assault and having behaved in a threatening or abusive manner.

The incidents occurred outside the neighbours' homes in Laurie Terrace, Thurso, on May 20.

Fiscal David Barclay said that the pair appeared to have an ongoing issue and that the police had frequently been contacted by one of them or the other.

Solicitor Fiona MacDonald also referred to the issue and commented that things had "got out of hand" on the day in question.

She added: "The accused accepts that he reacted in a way he should not have done."

Fox was fined £400.
