A WELL-KNOWN Thurso musician has been named as the victim of a road accident in the north-east at the weekend.

Nathan Gunn sustained fatal injuries in the crash on the A93 between Ballater and Braemar early on Friday evening.

The 30-year-old's red Vauxhall Astra was involved in a collision with a Stagecoach bus.

Mr Gunn was born and brought up in Thurso and along with brothers Luke and Paul formed the rock band Estrella.

They moved a number of years ago to Aberdeen where the band is based. Nathan, who went by the stage name of Tommy, played bass guitar.

He had been working at the Boat Inn in Aboyne.

A statement from the family said: "Nathan’s death is an overwhelming tragedy, as his death has rocked not only his family and those closest to him but also anyone that has ever known him.

"He had a special gift of bringing laughter to any situation, the most endearing and gentlest of clowns, and demonstrated only kindness to everyone he encountered
