Thurso music venture set to expand

LOVE Live Music (LLM) is set to expand its venues in Thurso with a gig taking place on Friday (Sept 16) in Top Joe's pub.

Ken Bateson, who started the venture at the town's Royal British Legion club, said:"After speaking with Scott Shearer, Top Joe's manager, we'll be starting to feature some of our Legion regulars there. The first one will go ahead on Friday and will feature John Holmes and Dave Trueman. If it's a success then we would hope to continue with this arrangement."

Mr Bateson added: "Scott is keen to start having music once again in Top Joe's. It's been more than three years since anyone's played there. He is keen to support what Love Live Music is doing to encourage local talent and help to get a vibrant music scene back on the go. This will be another opportunity for some of our very talented musicians to play and, at the same time, get a little money in their pockets.

"We're also hoping in the future to help create opportunities for live music in other venues."
