Thurso man over the limit on mobile scooter

A 56-year-old man who drove his mobile scooter while more than three times the legal drink limit has been fined £300.
David Moody was also put off the road for 16 months after he pleaded guilty at Wick Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

Police spoke to Moody in Durness Street, Thurso, on May 17, after receiving a report from a concerned member of the public about a man who appeared to be driving while drunk.

A test revealed a blood-alcohol reading of 168mg - the legal limit is 50mg.
Moody, of Castlegreen Court, Thurso, also admitted a previous record of offending.
Sheriff Neil Wilson commented on his "worryingly high" alcohol level.
