Thurso man in breach of peace after complaint became heated





A Thurso man has been fined £250 for a breach of the peace.

Self-employed James Beresford pleaded guilty to the charge, reduced from one of assault.

The sheriff court at Wick was told that the 38-year-old went round to a house in Holborn Avenue, Thurso, to make a complaint. There was an exchange of words with a man there, matters became heated and the two men struggled.

A neighbour, who heard the commotion, contacted the police.

Beresford, of The Smiddy, Achnavast, Thurso, was arrested by the police and charged.

He also admitted a record of previous offending.
