A Thurso man has been fined £250 for a breach of the peace.
Self-employed James Beresford pleaded guilty to the charge, reduced from one of assault.
The sheriff court at Wick was told that the 38-year-old went round to a house in Holborn Avenue, Thurso, to make a complaint. There was an exchange of words with a man there, matters became heated and the two men struggled.
A neighbour, who heard the commotion, contacted the police.
Beresford, of The Smiddy, Achnavast, Thurso, was arrested by the police and charged.
He also admitted a record of previous offending.
