Thurso man denies series of sex charges related to young girls





A Thurso man is facing 12 sex-related charges involving five girls.

Kane Angus Cameron confirmed his not guilty pleas on Tuesday and had his jury trial at Wick Sheriff Court set for March 3 next year.

The 29-year-old is accused of offences involving girls aged between 12 and 15, the charges spanning from September 12, 2015 to December 31, 2020.

He is accused of three sexual assaults and also faces three charges of engaging in sexual activity and six of sending sexually explicit messages, in all cases to underage girls.

Cameron also denied possessing indecent photos of children on October 7, 2022, and giving or making available alcohol to one of the girls, then aged 13, between October 8, 2020, and October 7, 2021.

Cameron, of Stainland Drive, remains on bail pending trial.
