The Taylors arrives at port with the ‘Etoile’.

THURSO lifeboat The Taylors was called out in the early hours of Friday morning to help a stricken yacht off the north coast.

Aberdeen coastguard requested the launch of the RNLI lifeboat after Etoile suffered a power failure a mile off Brims Ness and, as a result, had started to drift with the tide.

The Taylors launched just after 4.30am in good sea conditions and arrived on scene in 20 minutes.

A tow was established and the yacht was taken safely back to Scrabster harbour with her two-person crew.
