The headteacher of Miller Academy Primary School said that her pupils had a really lovely time at Thurso's West Church for its annual Christmas family celebration service.

"The service was led by Rev Lyall Rennie who was very ably supported by his wife, Isobel along with Lorna Sinclair on the organ and Alan Sparling," reported headteacher Jacqui Budge.

"During this time, some of the P1 children acted out the traditional Nativity story and all of the children sang carols and Christmas songs which they had learned.

"The church was very busy due to the excellent support from families and Rev Rennie helped the children to learn about the symbols of Christmas during his talk. A collection was also held which raised an impressive £210.80 for ‘Thurso Christmas Lights’."
