Pupils at Thurso High marked Remembrance Day by painting stones to be used in a display in the school's quad.

Janitor Colin McLean came up with the idea and passed it on to prefect Abbie Brown, who organised the display as part of her leadership award.

Pupils were invited to paint stones at home and the stones were used in the display.

School staff said they were impressed by the number of stones that were handed in as well as the "exceptional" artwork of some stones.
