Thurso Festival of Highland Dancing attracts contestants from all over the north

OVER 90 contestants from across the north took part took part in the Thurso Festival of Highland Dancing. The event, which was held in Keiss Hall on Sunday, June 4, attracted 92 competitors from across the Highlands and Orkney. They were aged from four upwards.

A spokeswoman said: "We had trophies for the Mina Mackay dancers with the most points in the beginner/novice sections and the intermediate/premier sections. The winners of these were Eilidh Rosie (beginner/novice) and Rachel Durrand (intermediate/premier)."

The judges for the competition were: Glynis Lumsden (Strichen) and Rosaline Hendry (Balmedie) while the pipers were, Jack Manson (Thurso), Glenn Miller and Morven Miller, both Watten.
