Police officers who spoke to a woman concluded that she was under the influence of something.

Wick Sheriff Court heard this week that this was indicated by her demeanour and the fact that she was unsteady on her feet and “rambling” after she stepped from her parked car.

Chloe Eddows (28) admitted to having been in charge of the vehicle while unfit through drugs, and without insurance, in Main Street, Castletown, on September 11 last year.

She was fined £300 on each charge against her and banned from driving for a period of six months.

Wick Sheriff Court heard on Wednesday that, after being taken by officers to the police station, Eddows, of Heathfield Road, Thurso, had referred to tablets and cocaine she had taken.

The court was told that the accused was said to have mental health issues and was addressing substance misuse.
