A LUCKY Thurso couple are in the money after winning a quarter of a million pounds on a scratchcard game.

The pair – who will not be named until tomorrow morning – won £250,000 on a National Lottery Turquoise scratchcard.

The presentation of the cheque will be made to the winners tomorrow in Thurso.

It is the third time this year a ticket bought in Caithness has won big money – John and Angela Sutherland, from Wick, won over £282,000 on the EuroMillions draw, while Alistair Cameron and his wife, Isobel, also from Wick, won the £500,000 jackpot on the National Lottery Thunderball in March.

Both tickets were purchased at the Tesco store in Wick.
