A community minded Thurso man who has selflessly been transforming the town centre with flowers is seeking local help this Saturday afternoon (June 24).

Alexander Glasgow hopes that people can come out and help him weed the rose beds on Olrig Street and has a Facebook page with more info at: www.facebook.com/events/s/weeding-of-olrig-street-roses/618339146934126/

Mr Glasgow says: "As welcome as rain has been, weeds have a new lease of life.

"Come along and help weed this focal point in Thurso of the roses in front of the tennis courts. Bring your own tools and gloves and refreshments. Under 16s should be accompanied by an adult."

He hopes that the roses can come into bloom without being hampered by weeds. Anyone interested should go along at 2pm this Saturday.
