Staff and residents at Pentland View in Thurso welcomed in the Year of the Dragon with a day of celebrations and activities.

Inspired by Chinese culture and traditions, residents baked a Chinese New Year cake, which was enjoyed by all. Residents learnt all about the traditions and superstitions of Chinese New Year, and enjoyed watching Chinese New Year celebrations happening in Shanghai.

The colours, decorations and traditional clothing were all admired as residents ate the cake and opened fortune cookies. They also enjoyed a video explaining some of the customs around the Chinese New Year, as well as the mythology behind it. They then enjoyed a quiz about everything they had learned.
