She said: “I still haven’t got over the shock of being shortlisted, I had no idea I had even been nominated! It is wonderful to think people took the time to vote for me, I am incredibly grateful and very touched. I absolutely love my job. Barchester is a brilliant company to work for and it is fantastic to be recognised for doing something I am so passionate about.”

A Barchester spokesperson said: "Over 85 per cent of the social care workforce is female and many have to juggle the challenges of family life with their career.

"The purpose of WAGSCA is to highlight and celebrate the incredible achievements of female leaders in all roles and from all corners of the sector, and create a platform to support rising stars and future leaders." The winners will be announced at a gala awards ceremony on November 21 at the London Marriott Grosvenor Square hotel.
