Members of Thurso Boys' Brigade are to help local kids get creative and beat the lockdown blues with doorstep deliveries of Covid-19 craft packs.

Captain Johanna Geddes of 1st Thurso Boys’ Brigade said that funding has been secured for the purchase of special packs of the items, but "to get the ball rolling" she wants local folk to put in requests.

She said: "We are aware that in this lockdown many children and young families may find themselves with limited supplies of simple things like pencils, paper, colouring pencils and craft supplies.

Thanks to Thurso Boys' Brigade, local children can create colourful rainbow art with the Covid-19 craft packs they are giving out.

"These are great for keeping children and young people busy and good for mental health.

"We at 1st Thurso Boys' Brigade would like to make up and deliver these packs to the doorsteps of children and young people most in need in our community."

The group is aiming to provide for ages ranging from nursery to secondary school.
