Thurso band's 'surreal experience' at Isle Of Wight Festival 2023

Forgetting the Future (FTF), an up-and-coming band from Thurso, are said to be "still pinching themselves" after a dream weekend when they performed at the sold-out Isle of Wight Festival 2023.

The band got the opportunity when they were selected from hundreds of applications via Amplead’s Apply to Play service, to appear on the Platform One Stage in the main arena and they lived up to the moment, playing a powerful punchy set to a hot and busy Big Top.

The festival experience was a dream come true for the lads. They enjoyed the unique VIP arrival and exit to the festival normally reserved for the headline acts, being helicoptered in by Helipad, as part of the winners' package from Amplead.

Lead singer Robbie enthused: “We optimistically applied to play at one of the most prestigious music festivals in the UK, the Isle of Wight. Amazingly, we received an email from Amplead saying that we had been selected from hundreds of acts, offering us a Friday evening slot at this year's Festival.

“As if being selected to play wasn’t enough, having travelled 800 miles to Southampton, they flew us across the Solent into the festival site by helicopter. It was one of the most surreal experiences for us and hopefully a taster of what’s to come in the future!”

The four-piece indie rock band, made up of Robbie McNicol, Sam Cowan, Max Paul and Jamie Mackay, will be building on this festival experience by playing at this year’s Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival in July and will release an EP later this year.
