TURNING suggestions of how to improve Thurso and Wick into a reality are set to be discussed at public meetings next week.

Highland Council officials are inviting residents to discuss the outcome of the public consultations, known as charrettes, which were held in both towns in February.

The purpose of the meetings is to explore how Highland Council, local communities and others might help deliver some of the ideas that emerged from the workshops three months ago.

During the charrettes, master plans for Thurso and Wick were drawn up reflecting people’s suggestions for the development, regeneration and general improvement of the towns and surrounding areas.

The results will be fed into the new Caithness and Sutherland Local Development Plan, which will guide town planners over the next decade.

The Thurso meeting is being held on Monday at 7pm in the town’s Free Church Hall in Millbank Road and the Wick meeting on Tuesday at 7pm, in the town’s Assembly Rooms.
