THREE new Caithness councillors will take their places in the council chamber in Inverness after securing the support of the voting public.
The 2012 council election, the results of which have just been announced following the count in the Highland capital, saw Labour’s Neil MacDonald elected in Wick, SNP candidate Alex MacLeod in Landward Caithness and Labour’s Roger Saxon in Thurso.
Independent candidate Graeme Smith, who previously represented Wick, was the only former councillor to lose his seat in the Caithness wards, while seven councillors were returned.
