Temporary repairs have been carried out on Thurso High School's damaged gym hall roof and further work is being planned, Highland Council has said. The school reopened on Monday.

Pupils had been sent home on Thursday under an emergency evacuation procedure after the gym roof suffered structural damage. A post on the school's Facebook page said it had caused "unstable debris".

The school remained closed to pupils on Friday.
