Temporary 40mph speed restriction at Latheron and Causewaymire

It was announced this week that there will be a temporary road restriction on the A9/A99 at Latheron and along the Causewaymire road.

The temporary 40mph restriction is in place north and south of the junction between the A99 and A9 at Latheron and for a stretch of the A9 Causewaymire road.

The restriction will be in operation from February 21 until November 1, 2024.

The order does not apply to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations, or vehicles being used in an emergency for coastguard purposes.

An alternative route is not required.
