A teenage driver escaped unhurt after his car struck the verge and hit a wall before ending up on its roof, Wick Sheriff Court heard on Wednesday.

Cameron Frain (19) was charged with careless driving but it was put down to him being "a relatively new and inexperienced driver".

Frain, a first offender, of Stroma Place, Thurso, pleaded guilty and was fined £150. He also incurred three penalty points.

The accident happened on the A836 at Forss, on May 20, last year.
