Team Norscot goes the extra mile in Paws for a Cause walking challenge
Staff from a Bower-based joinery company undertook a gruelling charity walking challenge covering over 1000km.
In July, dedicated members of Team Norscot from its Inverness and Bower bases laced up their walking shoes for its ‘Paws for a Cause Walking Challenge’. Together, they covered 1210.65 kilometres, which is roughly the equivalent of walking from Norscot Bower to Norscot Inverness and back seven times over.
With a suggested voluntary donation of £1 per kilometre, the team raised £340 for Maggie’s Highlands. This contribution will support initiatives such as a one-week exercise course, helping visitors boost their energy, confidence, and overall well-being.
The challenge featured awards for participants. Carla Resendiz, product development manager, earned the title of ‘top walker’ by completing 239.54km. Meanwhile, the award for ‘best furry companion’ went to Mac, the working cocker spaniel belonging to the company’s estimator.
Norscot sent out “a huge thank you” to everyone who participated and supported the challenge.
Earlier in the summer, Norscot Joinery Ltd, a leading provider of high-quality timber frame kits, windows, and doors in the Highlands, announced its charity partnership with Maggie’s, a renowned organisation dedicated to providing free support and information to people with cancer.
