Surfers are set to enjoy 15 foot waves at Thurso East this week.

SURFERS in the Far North have been braving the chilly winter days this week, taking the chance to ride the giant waves on the shores of Thurso East beach.

The venue, which is widely regarded as Europe’s number-one surfing destination, has seen a swell which has produced 12-foot waves.

Despite the water set to calm down today (Friday), the good news for surfers is that the waves are set to return on Saturday and continue on to Wednesday at an average height of 15 feet.
