A man who assaulted two people in Thurso's Tesco store has been placed on a supervision order for a year.

Andrew Robertson (25) previously admitted striking Robin Ayre and Jennifer Davenport in the supermarket on April 21.

A plea of not guilty to a third charge of having indecently exposed himself in a public place, was accepted by the prosecution.

Sheriff Neil Wilson, who saw a background report at Wick last week, said that there had been "a lot of things going on" in the accused's life at the time of the offences but he had since taken steps to address his difficulties.

The sheriff noted that Robertson had benefited from a year's supervision imposed, previously, on an unrelated matter and, as stated, made him subject to a further such period.

Robertson was living in Thurso at the time of the Tesco assaults but had since moved to St Andrew's Road, Largoward, Leven.
