THREE Caithness superheroes have raised more than £500 for charity by completing one of the toughest night races in Britain.

Colin (27), Chris (25) and Michael Stone (22), from Castletown, ran in the Mighty Deerstalker in Innerleithen on Saturday while raising money for the Stroke Association.

All three finished in the top 140 runners from a field of almost 1400.

Dressed as Wonder Woman, Captain America and Mr Incredible, the trio completed the 9.4 mile, 2000ft challenge in under two hours despite wintry weather.

Colin, who finished 11 minutes behind Chris and six behind Michael, said: “It’s hard enough running in a superhero costume without having to battle the elements at the same time.

“We’re delighted with our efforts though and the team and I would like to thank everyone for their donations.”
