Success for Caithness trio at Scottish writers' conference
There was success for three local writers at the Scottish Association of Writers' annual conference held in Cumbernauld last weekend.
Catherine Byrne won first prize in the self-published category for her novel Follow the Dove. She also took second prize in the Pitlochry Quaich competition for her crime novel Death on an Island.
Emma Sinclair won first prize in the general novel competition for The Things We Tell the Dead and was commended in the general novel competition for Northern Link.
Margaret Wood was commended in the poetry competition for Body Talk Rap.
Emma is a member of Caithness Writers, while Catherine and Margaret are members of both Caithness Writers and Talking Volumes.
Caithness Writers meets fortnightly in the community space in Wick's Tesco store, from 7-9pm on Mondays, and anyone interested in joining is welcome to go along for a taster session. The next meeting is on Monday, April 3.
