SCOTTISH and Southern Energy (SSE) are to hold an information day for local businesses to learn of opportunities in the construction of the Strathy North wind farm.

The company is keen to maximise the benefits for local businesses and communities from their projects and so will hold an event to highlight them on Wednesday, February 26, at Strathy village hall from 11am to 3pm and 5pm to 8pm.

The project team and principal contractor for the £109 million wind farm will be at the event, with Highland businesses of all sizes welcome and the opportunity to take part in one to one drop in sessions with key project representatives.

The company’s ‘Open4Business’ procurement team will also be there to introduce SSE’s business opportunities portal – www.sseopen4business-highlands.com – along with representatives from a range of other SSE businesses.

SSE’s community investment team will be on hand to provide information about the community benefits associated with the project.

People are asked to confirm their interest in attending the event. To do so, go to www.sse.com/strathynorth/business
