Storm Eva expected to sweep over Caithness tonight
STORM Eva is expected to sweep over Caithness tonight causing travel disruption.
Gusts of between 55 mph and 60 mph are expected – and even up to 70 mph – but local weather watcher Keith Banks does not think the county will experience anything out of the ordinary for the time of year.
"It depends on the path of it but it’s just a typical winter storm," he said.
"From early to mid-morning tomorrow will be quite windy and certainly it will be unpleasant but will pass through quite quickly."
The Met Office has yellow "be aware" warnings out for parts of Scotland for rain from 6pm this evening to 8am tomorrow and winds of up to 80 mph from 9pm to 3pm tomorrow.

The heaviest rain has been forecast for Scotland’s southern uplands and the southern and central Highlands while the winds should worst affect the Western and Northern Isles.
NorthLink Ferries’ crossing to Orkney at 7pm tonight was rescheduled for 5pm due to adverse weather conditions.
Tomorrow the 6.30am sailing from Stromness and the 8.45am sailing from Scrabster are expected to operate to schedule but may face weather-related delays.
Later sailings are under review.
