Staxigoe man fined after hitting 74mph in 50mph limit

A driver clocked at 74mph in a 50mph limit was fined £120 at Wick Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

First offender James Sutherland (55), of Moray View Avenue, Staxigoe, also incurred three penalty points after he admitted the offence by letter.

The incident occurred on a straight stretch of the A836, at Murkle, on February 12.
