BRICKIE Jimmy MaGee has become the first employee of builders Green and Cameron to retire from the company which was formed 42 years ago.

When he began work as a trainee mason, Jimmy, from West Mey, was the firm’s second employee.

His career began on the first day after the annual trades holidays and his retiral came 40 years later – on the last day before this year’s trade holidays.

Jimmy received an engraved glass plaque from managing director David Green while his wife, Jenny, was presented with a basket of flowers by Ethel Green.

As part of his farewell gifts from the company, he also received an engraved bottle of Old Pulteney and a set of glasses while fellow mason Craig Fulton handed over a sum of cash on behalf of his work colleagues.
