Multi award-winning company with a manufacturing operation at Smerlie by Lybster has achieved an important growth landmark by employing its 100th member of staff.

The move follows an ongoing recruitment drive fuelled by a steep upward growth trajectory and was spearheaded by the recent announcement of a 25 per cent year-on-year increase in work won during the first quarter of the year, with torque specialist EnerQuip securing more than $6.2 million of contracts during that period.

EnerQuip is a leading provider of innovative torque machine solutions for the energy industry and the latest achievement is yet another milestone in the company’s rapid growth since it was set up just eight years ago.

A drive to deliver exceptional products and services to a global client base means that EnerQuip now employs 94 people in the UK, including 74 in Aberdeen, 10 at Lybster and 10 at Fife-based precision machining company Diamac Engineering Ltd which became part of the EnerQuip family last year.

Overseas, the company employs two people in Abu Dhabi, three in Houston and one in Australia with plans for further expansion across the board set to see the total rise further in the coming weeks and months.

The 100th person to join the team was Mike Halliday who has become business development manager. An accomplished and experienced sales professional, Mike brings a wealth of knowledge and experience gained during more than 20 years in business development and sales management positions with various global organisations.

Commenting on his new role, Mike said: “This is an exciting time to join EnerQuip and I look forward to working with the team to build on their excellent growth achieved to date and further support their ambitious growth plans into 2023 and beyond.”

Managing director Andrew Robins added: “Since the start, we have worked hard to establish EnerQuip as a trusted industry leader and central to achieving that is having excellent people on board. We are proud to be building a strong team of industry professionals who share our commitment to delivering excellence to clients worldwide and using that foundation as a springboard towards growth.”

Launched in Aberdeen in June 2015, EnerQuip is a leading specialist in the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of market leading torque machines and associated products, including bucking units and fully rotational makeup and breakout torque machines which can be adapted to suit any application.

The highly skilled team delivers 24/7, 365 support and works with a growing client base in an increasing list of locations that includes Africa, North and South America, Canada, Europe, Asia, Australia and the Middle East.
