Sparkie had cocaine in Wick bar

COCAINE possession cost a Wick electrician £400 at Wick Sheriff Court on Friday.

James McPhee (21) of Glamis Road, admitted having 0.4 of a gram of the class A drug on him in Harper’s Bar, Back Bridge Street, on September 29. The court heard McPhee had been challenged by staff over something he had in his hand.

He handed over the quantity of drugs to the staff and then voluntarily attended Wick Police Station. Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood asked the sparkie why he had the drug in the first place.

Representing himself, McPhee told the sheriff that it had been “a one off stupid mistake” and he deeply regretted it.

The sheriff ordered McPhee to pay a £400 fine in the next month.
