Six goal thriller as sides share the spoils

BOTH teams were left to ponder how they didn’t come away with three points in a six goal thriller at Harmsworth Park.

Clach took the lead within 60 seconds when Allan Pollock latched on to a rebound.

He doubled his total four minutes later when defender Stewart Ross failed to take control of a passback for the striker to capitalise.

Gary Weir pulled one back for the hosts with a header through a Richard Macadie free kick.

Clach regained the two goal advantage a minute later through Brian Macleod when a lack of communication between Ross and Craig Shearer let him clean through on goal.

Michael Steven pulled one back just before half time after Alan Farquhar pumped the ball into the box from a Cunningham corner.

The comeback was complete on 61 minutes after Steven surged down the right wing and found Weir to score his second.

A bad tempered game which saw 31 fouls and four yellow cards could have seen both teams win it in the dying minutes.

Michael Steven missed by inches in injury time before Wick keeper Alan Bokas pulled off a fantastic save from Gordon Morrison to make sure both teams shared the points.
