HEAVY downpours of rain have caused the ground in Caithness fields to become very soft as one farmer found to his cost on Tuesday afternoon.

A farmer who was transporting a heavy laden silage trailer at Buckies Farm, near Halkirk, got into trouble when his cargo tipped over.

A woman at Buckies Farm, who did not want to be named, said no-one was hurt or injured as a result of the accident.
