Should Caithness have its own flag?

Alan MacDonald from Wick originally came up with the idea for a Caithness flag. This was his suggested design.

THE Caithness Courier and John O’Groat Journal is launching the Fly the Flag campaign for Caithness to become the first mainland county in Scotland to have its own flag.

Caithness has a history and culture of its own which makes it different from anywhere else in the Highlands and we think that deserves to be recognised.

In the coming weeks, we will try to find out if there is enough support in the area to organise a petition to send to Highland Council for Caithness to have its own flag.

We want to hear from you if you think the campaign is a good idea? Do you think a flag would bring any benefits to Caithness? Would it boost our tourist industry or give us more national recognition?

Send us your ideas, opinions, thoughts and suggestions to The Editor, North of Scotland Newspapers, Cliff Road, Wick, Caithness, KW1 5ED or email editor@nosn.co.uk
