A sheriff has called for a background report on a man who was said to be naked when he assaulted two people in Thurso's Tesco store.

Andrew Robertson (25) admitted striking the pair in the store on April 21.

A plea of not guilty to a third charge of having indecently exposed himself in a public place was accepted by fiscal David Barclay at Wick Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

Sheriff Neil Wilson observed that Robertson was taking steps to address underlying difficulties in his life.

The accused, who has a previous record of offending, will be sentenced on November 29.

He was living in Thurso at the time of the offences but is currently resident in St Andrew's Road, Largoward, Leven.
