Senior management changes taking place at Dounreay

CHANGES are to take place within the senior management team at Dounreay, it emerged this week.
News of the shake-up of the executive members at the site was announced at Wednesday night's meeting of the Dounreay Stakeholders Group (DSG).
It was pointed out that new directors have been announced while others will be leaving their posts. Some of the new roles have been appointed but others will not be taking up their roles until early next year, it was stated.
The changes will result in what was described as "a new-look executive team." One of those leaving Dounreay is director of assurance, Barry Cran who is taking up a national post with Great British Nuclear.
DSG chairman, Struan Mackie, said: "We want to have the best working relationship with the senior executive team we can and we have been very fortunate in that regard during my three-and-a half years as chairman. We have had a good relationship and that helps us understand what's happening on the site."
He added: "We welcome the opportunity to get to meet and engage with the new members early on as we are the interface between the community and the team."
Mr Mackie said he was "very sad" to see Barry Cran leaving and described him as "a valued member" of the DSG who "contributed greatly to the work done."
"We are sorry to lose him but wish him well at GB Nuclear which is an important national role."
A Dounreay spokesperson said:"Dounreay is delivering its mission safely, securely and sustainably for all our futures and is currently going through a period of transformation in accordance with the NDA strategy. Having joined with Magnox earlier this year to create Nuclear Restoration Services, the new model has enabled us to realise the benefits of being within the NDA group by restructuring to a more effective and mission delivery focussed, programmatic approach. We will see some key role and people changes over the next four months and the site will continue to be led by our managing director, Mark Rouse with support from his executive team."
