Commodore Malcolm Williams called in at the port as part of a visit to Scotland which will conclude in Aberdeen with a meeting of the society’s honorary agents in northern Scotland. On the agenda is the charity’s continuing work and in particular the implications of welfare benefit reforms.

The society provides financial support to former fishermen and Merchant Navy seafarers who are facing financial hardship.

Mr Williams included in his visit the society’s volunteers who are essential in connecting those in need with the charity. The Fishermen’s Mission greatly assists in this vital function.

To find out more, contact Scrabster Mission’s superintendent Colin Mackay on 01847 892402 or 07917 754358.
