MEMBERS of 1st Wick Scout Group joined up with 1st Dunnet Bay to take part in the annual Jamboree on the Trail. This is an international event and it was being held for the 22nd year, although the first time the local groups had participated.

Beavers, Cubs and Scouts all met at Dunnet Forest to take part in an orienteering hike, with a quiz to do on the way round and various checkpoints. They were given permission from Dunnet Forestry Trust to use its log cabin for refreshments, with everyone being given hot dogs and drinks after they had completed the course. The groups were grateful to Tesco for donating rolls and hot dogs, and also thanked Karen Center, Tesco's community champion, and Greg Gunn, the bakery manager, who came on the day to help.

There were nearly 100 people there and all had a great time. Everyone who took part and helped was given a special badge.
