Community-based heritage will be the focus of an event in Wick next week.

The Scottish Civic Trust has organised a free afternoon of talks and workshops on developing skills, knowledge and connections under the My Place Mentoring initiative.

Wick Heritage Museum in Bank Row is hosting the gathering on Tuesday, March 10, between 12.30pm and 4.30pm.

Community groups involved with the built environment and heritage sectors are invited along to share experiences, celebrate their achievements, learn from each other and discuss, debate and plan for the future.

On hand will be speakers and representatives from the Scottish Civic Trust, My Place Mentoring, Development Trusts Association Scotland and the Heritage Trust Network to share best practice on topics ranging from governance to fundraising as well as project visioning.

Jamie McNamara, senior project officer with My Place Mentoring, said: "Please join us for this lively afternoon of sharing knowledge and building connections. Tea, coffee and sandwiches will be served on the day."

Spaces are limited and must be booked. To do so log on to Eventbrite, email jamie.mcnamara@scottishcivictrust.org.uk or call 0141 221 1466.
