Santa's grotto a right spectacle

AMIDST the rush of the Christmas countdown, Santa Claus visited Specsavers Wick to gather last-minute present wishes from local children.

The store team, with help from Santa’s elves of course, sprinkled the store with festive magic and transformed a test room into a grotto in time for his visit to Specsavers Wick.

Youngsters who visited the grotto met Santa himself and each child was gifted with a present. The team collected donations on the day and thanks to generous visitors, the store raised £41.81 for Guide Dogs.

Guide Dogs charity provides life-changing services to the 360,000 people who are registered blind or partially sighted, and the two million people in the UK living with sight loss. The charity provides a range of services including guide dogs, to help thousands of people with different needs lead confident, independent and fulfilling lives.

Ian Morris, store director at Specsavers Wick, said: "We loved welcoming this very special visitor in store who helped spread festive cheer to our customers – young and old.

"I’d like to say a big thank you to our customers for their generosity to these two fantastic charities."
