Sam set for Countdown appearance

A contestant from Wick will be appearing on TV’s Countdown on Monday.

Sam Hendry (28) gained a place on the daytime words-and-numbers programme after passing an audition in January.

He is studying multimedia sports journalism at Manchester’s UCFB Etihad Campus.

Countdown, presented by Nick Hewer, is the longest-running show on Channel 4.

Sam said: “It was good fun being at the Countdown studios, having watched the show for years. The people were all very nice and it was a great experience.”
