Work to resurface badly scarred and potholed road surfaces is currently taking place on the A882 near Bilbster this afternoon (February 2).
A stretch of road is being resurfaced where several accidents have been reported over the last few months and a convoy system is in operation to allow the smooth flow of traffic as each side is worked on.
A Highland Council spokesperson said: “Members of the Caithness Committee approved a prioritised Roads Maintenance Programme for Caithness Area for 2021/22 in April last year. Included in programme of works was inlay works 100m road at Bilbster bends costing £5,400.”
Inlay work to resurface a 350m stretch of the same road took place a few months ago that went from the village shop in Watten to the bridge at a cost of £37,800.
