Roads in Wick and Castletown will be temporarily closed next week to allow repairs to take place.

Iron work repairs mean that parts of Harbour Quay and Telford Street in Wick will be closed on Thursday, December 17.

The closures affect the B9159 Harbour Quay, from its junction with Burn Street to its junction with Saltoun Street, and Telford Street, from its junction with Williamson Street to its junction with Harbour Quay.

The closures will be in place from 09.30am to 3.30pm.

An alternative route will be available via Williamson Street and Rose Street or Bank Row and Williamson Street.

In Castletown, the repair work will take place on Friday, December 18, from 9.30am to 3.30pm.

The works will affect Joiners Lane, which will be closed between its junction with the A836 Main Street and its junction with Murrayfield.

An alternative route will be available via Butchers Lane and Murrayfield or Bank Lane and Murrayfield.

Highland Council says both road closures are to allow contractors to work safely while carrying out iron work repairs.

Local, pedestrian and emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times.
