'Rising Artists of Caithness' events at Halkirk

After the success of the Legends of Caithness exhibition in July, the Sìdh Chailleann Art (SCA) team has a new series of events coming up as part of the Rising Artists of Caithness (RAC) programme.

RAC is a series of art workshops and mentorship sessions for people looking for arts training and employment. SCA will equip the applicants with experience, connections and opportunities around the country where they can develop their skills over the coming year.

SCA invites the public to the opening event on Saturday, October 14 to share dates in their calendars. "We would love to know about any volunteering opportunities you have, open evenings or similar events which our applicants may be able to get involved in to develop their artistic portfolios," says SCA.

Folklore and Humans: Where Two Worlds Meet is being held on the day as part of the Scottish International Storytelling Festival. Tickets are free and can be booked at www.sidhchailleannart.com

SCA is a third-sector publicly funded organisation which aims to make the art world an accessible and sustainable space.
