Primary school pupils entertained an audience of around 400 as Noss’s Got Talent made a successful return.

Twenty finalists made it through auditions to appear in the event at Noss Primary School in Wick on Thursday.

The judging panel consisted of Marney Bruce (Wick Players), Erin Macleod (Fascination), Kevin Swanson (Neon Waltz) and Noss children's service worker Laurence Warner.

It was the first time Noss’s Got Talent had taken place since 2019 and it was hosted by some of the school’s P7 pupils. There was a wide range of talents on show, from singing to dancing to playing musical instruments to football.

P4 pupil Ryan won the competition after performing How Do I Say Goodbye? by Dean Lewis.

After much deliberation, Ohana and Thomas (P3) and Bobby (P5) were placed in joint third after dazzling the audience with their dance routines.

The event was organised by class teachers Avril Farquhar and Cara Shearer, while facilities manager Michael Adamson provided logistical support in the lead-up.

Mrs Shearer said: “We were so delighted to bring back an opportunity for our wonderful pupils to showcase their talents.”

Mrs Farquhar added: “We are so proud of all the pupils for taking part and being so encouraging of one another.”

Wick Tesco community champion Karen Center and Darren Campbell, of Highland Gift Shop, provided Easter eggs for the finalists and mugs for the judges. Each finalist received a certificate.

Head teacher Fraser Thomson said: “It was wonderful to see so many of our families attending the event. The diverse range of talent, confidence and determination of all of our pupils who auditioned was extraordinary.

“The quality of the finalists gave the judges a very hard job and it was just one way of sharing the skills and talents of the learners in our school and ELC community.”
