Sheila Gunn has retired after 23 years as manager of the Cancer Research UK shop in Thurso, during which time well over £3 million has been raised for the national charity.

She received a bouquet from Betty Cunningham at a presentation in the shop in High Street.

Sheila praised the work of dedicated Cancer Research UK volunteers over the years and spoke of their pride on hearing their shop often referred to as the "Harrods of the North".

Long-standing support from customers, along with donations, has resulted in £3.4 million having been raised to date.
