Retired RAF photographer goes in search of Sugar

ALMOST 60 years ago, Barry Hughes met a man from Thurso who he became great friends with during a six-week training course in the Royal Air Force.

But after their training was complete, they never saw each other again.

Now Mr Hughes is keen to find the man, whose surname was Tate and had the nickname of “Sugar”, to help him write a book about his life which he wants to pass on to his family.
